WordPress is by far the most popular content management system (CMS) due to it's flexibility using enormous library of plugins. Plugin refers to tools to extend the functionality of WordPress. You can choose from a variety of plugins but the list below are the plugins that I can recommend. I have already them out and it works well with my self hosted WordPress account.

- Google XML Sitemaps - it automatically submits created sitemap (sitemap.xml/sitemap.xml.gz) to Google, Bing, Ask.com and Yahoo to better index your blog. You don't have to worry if you'll add a now entry, just sit back and let this plugin works for you.
